When passing through Châtel, a poet could well have written: "here, all is calm and beauty". In fact, this small village in Haute-Savoie has a rare charm, that of reconciling conviviality, a gentle way of life and the preservation of traditions, all in a majestic natural setting. At the foot of the mountains, you will discover a resort with preserved architecture where the wooden chalets proudly display their flowered balconies. These dwellings, characteristic of the Abondance valley, impress by their size, their low-pitched roofs and their south-facing facades, which have acquired a beautiful ruddy colour over time and on sunny days.
